About

My name is Eric Laspe.

I am husband to the talented and beautiful Carrie Laspe and dog-father to Zoey Ariel Maxwell Laspe, our adorable Yorkie. In 2006, I graduated from Wright State University with a B.S. in Computer Engineering. I then worked as an engineer, doing security-related things for SOCHE, Riverside Research Institute, Booz Allen Hamilton at the Nation Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), Riverside Research at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), and finally at Apple, where I ended my career after 7.5 years as a Software Security Engineer and another 1.5 as an Engineering Manager.

I am semi-retired as of 2021. Will I work again? God, I hope not… But statistically speaking, I have a lot of life left to live, so we shall see. Keep coming back and you too can bear witness to the havoc I am wreaking upon my life!

P.S. My favorite hobby is using a long, sharp axe to split logs into firewood, then laughing maniacally. Hence the URL. It’s difficult finding people willing to let me do this for them. Most folks just can’t believe I want to split their wood for fun and not chop their family into little bits. This is the cross I bear. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
